Sky Watchers' Association of North Bengal (SWAN) Affiliated to The Confederation of Indian Amateur Astronomers (CIAA) & Astronomers Without Borders (AWB)
It was just interest of few schools and college going boys from eastern India to look up towards high sky- that got crystallized and gave birth of SWAN in 1987. Arrival of Hally’s comet closer to earth that year played the role of catalyst in the crystallization. But, yes, the crystal did not appear with the name SWAN but remained just as a group or team without any name.
Some events today and some others tomorrow. High altitude locations and dark sky within vicinity as locations and ‘Sky of This Month’ of Science Reporter magazine as guide shook hands with enthusiasm.
